Welcome to Intermediate ACP!

Hi! I'm Mrs. Mako Jacobs and I teach in the Intermediate Alternate Curriculum Program (ACP) class. I've been teaching in OPS for 24 years. I taught seven years at Fontenelle Elementary  with the remaining 17 years being at Adams. I attended the University of Nebraska Omaha and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mild/Moderate Mentally Handicapped and Elementary Education. I earned my Masters of Science in Learning Disabilities and Resource Teaching. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and our four kids, watching my sons play baseball, training therapy dogs, riding horses, and running.

We are fortunate to have had a therapy dog at Adams Elementary since 2000. Halo is our third therapy dog and spends most of his time in our classroom. He is an Australian Collie, otherwise known as an Australian Shepherd/Collie mix. When he's not in the Intermediate ACP room, Halo visits the library where he listens to students read to him. This helps build students' confidence and increase their fluency. Halo loves being petted, listening to students read, going for walks, and chasing his ball.
